Additional Minimum Protections—Classified Systems

The minimum protections required for processing data on classified systems are more stringent. Prior to processing any classified data, a system must be accredited for such processing by the Designated Accrediting Authority. Check with your OCSR and/or your ISSO before doing any classified computing.

Protections for classified networked computers are outlined in each system's Security Plan.

Protections for Single-User Classified Systems (SUCS) are outlined in the "Master AIS Security Plan for Single-User Systems Processing Classified Data." A completed "Enclosure 1" form (at the end of the Plan) is required for each SUCS. The Enclosure 1 is good for three years or until the primary owner or system location change.

Remember, if you expect to do classified processing, you must complete the Classified Computer Security course (course #17846).
